Patricia and Futhi are in charge of the sewing courses at the Garden of Skills. One of the aims of the training is to master the sewing of school tunics, which make up most of the compulsory uniforms for young girls in the Swazi education system. All the stages are covered with the young trainees, from cutting the fabric according to a pattern, assembling, making the collar, buttonholes, belts and hems. Mastering all these techniques will help them learn to sew other garments, such as shirts and trousers.
