Macambeni is one of the most disadvantaged areas of Piggs Peak, a town located north of Estwatini. At the request of the Piggs Peak Town Hall, Designing Hope and its local partner Fundzisa Live have decided to set up a community garden in the neighborhood to demonstrate agroecological and agroforestry techniques.

The aim was multiple: to create a demonstration garden to encourage the local population to engage in a home garden, but also to provide vegetables for the parcels distributed to HIV-positive women at the hospital, as well as for the canteen of the neighbourhood crèche. This helps to ensure a good quality nutritional intake for the children. Every Monday, Fundzisa Live provides a food parcel of fresh fruit and vegetables to the cook for this purpose, to be supplemented if necessary with vegetables bought on the market. In this way, around twenty children in Macambeni benefit from this nutritional support.
