An incredible project
In 2020, Le Bon Marché is partnering Designing Hope with an exceptional project: a spectacular installation of 20,000 multicolored fabric flowers designed by South African fashion designer Thebe Magugu. The flowers were made in brooches stitched on countless lianas, and were produced by 120 women identified in the projects supported by Dessine l’Espoir in South Africa and Eswatini.
The flowers, available in the seven colors of the rainbow and two sizes, will be on sale in the department store, to benefit Designing Hope throughout the event to finance the project: “Garden of Skills” in Eswatini.

Garden of skills
The aim of this project is to bring together on the same site a forest garden and a center of activity and training in the field of agroecology, crafts and management of micro-projects open, in particular, to women and disadvantaged children. The “Garden of know-how” will provide them with workshops equipped for sewing, handicrafts, processing of garden products and the acquisition of knowledge in nutrition.
