Designing Hope built Silethithemba’s halfway House in 2011, in Roosboom, near Ladysmith (Kwazulu Natal), to welcome children from particularly disadvantaged backgrounds of this South African township.
3 women are in charge of the children and prepare a warm meal distributed after school.
The children then spend a few hours in the center, a moment to meet, play, dance, sing.
A library has been installed in the center, a place where the smallest can also draw, and the largest reviser, work with a tutorial. The Half Way House from Roosboom has benefited every year since 2014 from the presence of an American volunteer (Peace Corp.) for 2 years on site, and French volunteers passing for some time to animate workshops with children.
