A new training course for 8 young women is underway at the Garden of Skills sewing workshop in Malanti, Eswatini.
Today, Futhi and Patricia, the center’s two trainers, will take the students step by step through the production of school uniforms.
The program includes ironing the fabric, which is essential before cutting, positioning the cardboard patterns optimally, and cutting out the various parts before assembling them.
School uniforms represent a significant cost for families, and mastering their manufacture is an asset, also offering sales outlets for future seamstresses.
