The children in the Grade 2 class at Buhlebezwe school hurry to their new classroom, built by Designing Hope with the support of Marie Munoz and the Sir Lindsay and Lady Owen-Jones Foundation.
A joyful procession, colourful chairs on their heads, towards a larger room, in a wooden chalet that also includes a consultation room for the school’s social worker, who until now had no office to receive the
pupils.
This new classroom is part of the association’s wider support for this school in the disadvantaged township of Roosboom, close to the Half Way House run by Designing Hope since 2011.
This additional classroom, and the relocation of a second one, will make it possible to recover a room to improve the school’s kitchen and provide it with an additional room for storing foodstuffs, thanks to
the support received by Designing Hope from the Bel Foundation.
