Food support for patients living with HIV

As it does every month, Designing Hope, with the support of The Ivory Foundation, distributed food hampers at Piggs Peak Hospital in Eswatini.

The baskets, made up of fresh vegetables, vegetable oil and dried beans, are intended for the most vulnerable HIV-positive patients. The aim is to improve their nutritional intake, boost their immune defences and make it easier for them to take their antiretroviral treatments, which are often difficult to tolerate without sufficient food. Some of the vegetables come from the Garden of Skills, set up by the association in 2022.

Through this initiative, food support becomes a concrete link of solidarity between the women who cultivate the garden and patients in extremely precarious situations.
