Every day, the Halfway House in Roosboom welcomes 60 underprivileged children from the township and provides them with a hot meal. Every day, Lulu and Fisani prepare a starch-based dish – pap, the traditional cornmeal, or rice – accompanied by a sauce made with vegetables from the garden.
This garden, cultivated with the help of the children themselves, is a learning space, where they discover the basics of market gardening and the importance of healthy eating.
A program run by Designing Hope with the support of The Ivory Foundation.
