For the past 20 years, the Designing Hope association has been promoting the distribution of free condoms, mainly in southern Africa, by designing attractive packaging bearing messages of awareness and prevention of HIV and other STDs.
This year’s campaign was renewed thanks to the support of the AA Ulmann Fund, which paid for the printing of 300,000 boxes, each containing 4 condoms, as well as dispensers to make them available to targeted audiences.
For the first time this year, this campaign will also be distributed in Lesotho, as part of The Ivory Foundation’s action at Levi’s Nek.
A partnership has been set up with the health center in this rural community, which is responsible for prevention, screening and follow-up of HIV-positive patients.
The country is one of the most severely affected in the world, with 23.8% of its population HIV-positive.
